Yamaha PSR e413 61 Key Digital Keyboard - Connecting to a Personal Computer

I have bought a Yamaha PSR e413 61 Key Digital Keyboard recently and was excited to have successfully connected it to my computer. Currently, I use my PSR-e413 as a midi controller mostly for working on FL studio.

Though I manage to work without any issues most of the time, sometimes I notice that for no reason the computer or my instrument freezes.

I don't know what sequence of steps causes it but at time its is the computer or sometimes it is my PSR e413 keyboard that freezes and refuses to react to any of the keys / button presses.

It is quite frustrating whenever that happens, since a lot of time I have ended up losing all the data that I was working upon.

Any idea what could be causing this? Am I supposed to follow any sequence while connecting the Yamaha PSR e413 61 Key Digital Keyboard?

Yamaha PSR e413 61 Key Digital Keyboard - Connecting to a Personal Computer - Computer / PSR-e413 Freezes

Here are some checks that you should do while connecting the computer to the USB terminal of your Yamaha psr e413 61 key digital keyboard.

If you skip these checks, you may risk freezing the computer / PSR keyboard and corrupting or losing the data.

If the computer or the Yamaha PSR e413 freezes, try restarting the application software that is currently running, or restarting the computer, or turn the keyboard instrument off and then on again.

In general:

- Before connecting the computer to the USB terminal of Yamaha psr e413 61 key digital keyboard, exit from any power-saving mode of the computer (such as suspended, sleep, standby).
- Before turning on the power to the Yamaha PSR instrument, connect the computer to
the USB terminal.

Also, do the following before turning the power to the PSR instrument on/off or plugging / unplugging the USB cable to / from the USB terminal:

- Quit any open application software on the computer.
- Make sure that data is not being transmitted from the instrument. (Data is transmitted whenever you play on the music keyboard or play back a song, etc.)
- While the computer is connected to the yamaha psr e413 61 key digital keyboard, you should wait for six seconds or more between these operations: (1) when turning the power of the instrument off then on again, or (2) when alternately connecting/disconnecting the USB cable.
