The Yamaha PSR-510 is a reliable option for an intermediate or advanced keyboard enthusiast. It is probably one of the easiest digital keyboard workstations to use because of a very simple minimalistic display.

It is lightweight and portable; it would work well if you decide to use it for onstage performances as well… for most semi-pro uses.

Good selection of Voices

There is a wide selection of voices to choose from on the yamaha psr510; some are impressive but the others you can just pass on. Perhaps the most used in this model from Yamaha is the Grand Piano Voice. It is more than adequate but if you plan to record in the studio, you might want to fill it in with a FM Piano Module.

The speakers do not do the voices justice because the yamaha psr-510 sounds significantly better if ran through an amplifier.

Features

  • 128 Advance Wave Memory Voices
  • Accompaniment Track Buttons
  • Custom Accompaniment and Advance Effects
  • Song Memory
  • General MIDI Compatibility
  • Registration and Page Memories
  • Dynamic Stereo Sound

  • Conclusion

The Yamaha PSR-510 has long been discontinued but many keyboard players use this because it is lightweight and decent when it comes to sound quality. You can get one for yourself through second hand shops and online stores for a very reasonable amount. It has the standard additional features that could help peak the player’s interest like the Auto Harmony Function, Custom accompaniment, Advance Effects and Orchestration Control Cluster just to name a few of them. However, if you are more advanced, you might want to get a more updated model than the Yamaha PSR 510 keyboard.
