Yamaha p120 review

Yamaha p120 - The p120 is a very good option for the gigging musician as it is loaded with excellent piano sounds and effects and at the same time it is considerably lightweight.

Portable yet professional
The P-120 uses some of the best available piano samples and as a result it produces excellent and authentic piano sounds! It has a set of different piano sounds and includes other sounds like jazz and church organs, harpsichords, etc. The lightweight design makes it easier to carry around as well.

Graded Hammer Effect keyboard
The p120 comes with the Graded Hammer Effect keyboard which provides the feel normally associated with an acoustic piano. The keys are heavier on the bass side and gradually become lighter as you go towards the upper octaves.

PC Connectivity
The "p 120" provides a "TO HOST" slot which enables direct connection to a computer. You can use your piano as a MIDI controller to drive an external software sequencer if you wish.

2-Track Recorder
You can use your Yamaha p120 piano to record your performances which can be played back at the touch of a button. The 2-Track recorder lets you record one track at a time.

Other Features
Some of the other features that you will find useful are -
• 64-note polyphony - prevents note cutoff during complex musical passages
• 50 Preset Songs
• Lightweight Design
• split feature - play piano with your left hand and strings with the right hand
• Soft Pedaling Capability

Conclusions
The Yamaha P120 is loaded with excellent sounds, offers great performance and is a perfect piano for the gigging musician. The sound quality is consistent across all the octaves of the keyboard and it has a graded hammer action.
