Yamaha Musical Keyboard for a Beginner

Yamaha Musical Keyboard

I am thinking of buying a Yamaha musical keyboard for my 14 year old daughter.

She has taken keyboard lessons as a child but then for some reason she lost interest and did not continue with her lessons.

Now she wants to start all over again and is insisting on getting herself a 61 key keyboard.

I have heard good reviews of Yamaha musical keyboard but I am not sure what would be a good model for her to get started.

I am not looking for something very expensive but at the same time not the lowest of all the models.

Can I get a good Yamaha Musical Keyboard for around 200 to 250 dollars?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

It depends entirely on you. I would any day chose a Yamaha over a Casio keyboard just because of its sounds. Pay a bit more and go in for a higher Yamaha keyboard model, you will clearly hear the difference between the two brands.

That's the thing with kids. They start taking piano lessons and over a period of time lose interest, especially if they don't see much progress or if they are not able to play a lot of songs.

That's the reason its best to start with an inexpensive music keyboard model, something that has 61 touch sensitive keys and some nice sounds and rhythms, and let your child learn for a couple of years so that you can gauge the progress.

Yamaha PSR series has good keyboards but I would also check out some of the Casio CTK music keyboards. They always seem to offer good value for money and have recently launched new models as well. But your daughter is no longer a kid, she might insist for a Yamaha, just because they are considered to be better...show-off thing you know.
