Yamaha Motif xs8 keyboard and Roland rd700-gx - Comparison

by Alfus
(Ireland)

I would like buy a professional piano/keyboard for my brother as a gift.

Honestly I don't know much about how to buy a professional keyboard.

After searching for weeks, we are interested in the reviews for Yamaha motif xs8 and Roland rd700-gx

We are 4 brothers and we can share the amount, could you please help us out to compare (Yamaha motif xs8 and Roland rd700-gx)

Our brother plays the keyboard in Church and he is very much interested in his studies as well.

We wish to buy a very good professional keyboard/piano so as to help him for his future as well.

Could you please share your valuable suggestions?

Thanks
- Alfus

ROLAND Piano Keyboard Model RD-300 GX Review
by: Fred

I have a ROLAND Piano Keyboard Model RD-300 GX and I am very happy with it. When I was looking for a replacement I did consider the Roland rd700 but then it stretched my budget a lot.

I bought the RD-300 instead and the piano sounds are just as stunning as on the RD-700SX

It has 128 note polyphony and another interesting feature is the ability to play audio songs directly into the RD 300 GX via USB memory key.

Yamaha Motif XS8 keyboard and Roland rd700-GX
by: SuperSonic

I will put my money on the Yamaha MOTIF XS8 over the Roland rd700-gx.

I mean nothing wrong with the Roland but I feel the Motif is more powerful and has good acoustic instrument sounds. Especially the piano sound is better on the Yamaha Motif than the Roland rd700-gx.

In addition, the digital effects are also several, including approximately 6,000 different Arpeggio phrases.
