Yamaha NP30 Digital Piano

Yamaha NP30 Digital Piano

Would like review of Yamaha NP30 Digital Piano, why isn't it ever mentioned?

Anyone have personal experience with quality, sound, Pro's and Con's, etc. of Yamaha NP30 digital piano?

I have a Yamaha PSR 290 and still like the sound a lot but thinking of buying the Yamaha NP 30. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Yamaha NP-30 Digital Piano Review

Yamaha P-95 should be good. You also have options like Korg Sp-170, Casio PX130 and a couple more, but then they are expensive.

Check out this link: Best Digital Piano Keyboard under $500.

Alternatives to Yamaha NP-30 Digital Piano - Prefer more piano like feel
by: Abe

I need some advice for choosing a keyboard, can you help?

I'm looking for something like the Yamaha NP-30 (the sound is great!), but would prefer a more piano like feel, i.e. weighted or hammer keys.

The problem is price. The Yamaha NP30 is perfect in sound and price but has the light-touch. There is so much info out there that I'm finding it hard to choose.

The reason why I choose a keyboard instead of piano is because I rent a studio room. I have limited space and need to practice quietly. But don't want to compromise on quality.

Or at least try and get the best for my circumstances and budget. Please can you advise me!

Thank you.
Abe

I'm interested in personal opinions of the Yamaha NP 30. All I can find are comments by commercial sellers. I already know specs.

Thanks you for your input.

Review of Yamaha NP30 76 Key Digital Piano
by: Dave

The Yamaha NP30 is for about 300 bucks and I think what it provides is adequate for its purpose, i.e. for piano practice, though I use it for my performances as well.

As a professional pianist, I don't think it has piano sounds that blow me away. I use my Kurweil SP2X for such purposes.

But I use the Yamaha NP30 piano for its practicality. It is lightweight, has speakers and convenient to carry. It fits the bill if I have to simply provide background piano for a luncheon, cocktail gathering, reception, etc.

Review of Yamaha NP30 Digital Piano

The Yamaha NP30 digital piano is indeed a value-for-money keyboard, but once you have it the normal human behaviour takes over. You just wish some of the things could be better :)

Here are some of the things that could have made it better.

The sounds are good, especially the piano and strings, but can?t say so about the rest of the sounds. I have plugged it to a keyboard amplifier, so maybe it sounds even better because of that.

The keys are okay, a bit lighter I would say. And a bit harder to press towards the top end of the keys (away from the edge).

I wish there were a few more voices, and it was a full length 88-key keyboard...getting greedy already :)

Nevertheless, I would still say that these are trade-offs for the price you pay for the Yamaha NP30 digital piano.

You can read the review here.

Yamaha np30 piano review

It has 76 keys and not 88 keys, and no accompaniments...if it matters to you.
