Technics SX-PR902 Digital Ensemble Piano Does not Boot Up

by Bob Whiteley
(Montclair, NJ)

My Technics SX-PR902 digital piano keyboard does not boot up.

The display will glow, but the lights do not come on. Initially the Keyboard would come on sometimes, but now it will not.

My research on the web points to the motherboard requiring service.

Does anyone know someone in NY/NJ that could do this type of repair on Technics keyboards or Pianos?

PR902 Sound Name Error message
by: Roger

Hi Carl,

Perhaps you could shed some light on this issue.
It now takes longer to boot up than it used to but eventually everything is active.

Every LED lights up when key is selected but there is zero audio.

Do you know the origin of the error message: Sound Name Error?
Much obliged.

Carl:

I found somone in the UK named Mike Barden, who repairs Technics Keyboards. Sorry I can't be any more help than that.

Technics SX PR902 Digital Ensemble Piano
by: Carl

I have the same model, Technics SX PR902, and the problem is most likely NOT with the motherboard.
My problem is the LCD screen blew (actually burnt out) and needs to be replaced (and there isn't a suitable replacement that I have found on the planet) and believe I have researched this to the nth for months.

I am an area local tech and perhaps we could strike a deal with either u purchasing mine or vice versa for the parts we each may need.
If you would like to contact me, you may reach me via email at crbmusicman@crbmusic.com or call me at 716-631-3145 to discuss the issue.

You may also even be able to re-initialize your board to get it back up and running correctly.
