Beginner Digital Piano or Keyboard for Student Starting Piano Lessons
by: Suresh

This is what usually happens when you go for your first piano keyboard instrument. The ones that you like will be much above your budget. I would still recommend a Casio music keyboard to start with - Casio CTK-2100 premium package. Value for money, 61 keys and you can easily learn for 6-12 months. You can upgrade later if your daughter shows potential.

Alternatively, the 88-Key Casio PX-130 Privia digital stage piano is recommended by many as an excellent beginner piano keyboard. You may even consider Casio WK-200 76-Key or the Yamaha YPG-235 76-Key Music Keyboards.

Better to get a piano keyboard with weighted keys so later on it will be easy for her to play on a real piano. Yamaha makes better pianos than Casio and especially the Clavinova series from Yamaha is quite good. Expensive though, a new one would cost around $3k, but if you go for a used upright piano, you should find one under $1k.
