Looking for a good beginner DP (Digital Piano) for around £300 ($400)

by Steve
(Brighton, UK)

I am looking for a good beginner DP (Digital Piano) for around £300.

I am not exactly a beginner. I have a good understanding of music theory and can play the guitar. Now I want to learn to play keyboards as well.

Had bought myself a Yamaha PSRE323 keyboard but then I returned it back, not because it was bad, but because I realized I like a Digital piano more.

It doesn’t matter if the DP does not have all those voices and styles but I need a digital piano, though I would be using it more for personal use.

Budget is a constraint. I don’t want to stretch myself beyond £300.

You may also look at the Yamaha NP30, which comes with 76 keys and not 88 keys, if that doesn't matter to you. another option is the Yamaha p-95 which is an excellent portable piano but slightly out of your budget.

You won't get a very good digital piano for that price range but here are some options that you may consider.

The casio px-130 privia piano is a good piano and will definitely fit your budget. You may also look at the yamaha-ypg535 keyboard.

For a digital piano, until a few years back this would have been seemingly impossible, but yes today you do have some options in this price range.
