Kurzweil PC3X Workstation Keyboard Review

Kurzweil PC3X Workstation Keyboard reviewed here. Here is one performance keyboard that you will need to stay competitive in the cut-throat professional music scene.

Kurzweil PC3X

Kurzweil PC3X

The Kurzweil PC3X is a pro-looking keyboard with tons of features for professionals as well as serious hobbyists.

Kurzweil is one of the few manufacturers who design their own chips and that too exclusively for sound generation. That is the reason you get a distinct and rich sound from Kurzweil keyboards. Same applies to the PC3X as well.

The PC3X was called "The Ultimate Gig Keyboard" by Keyboard Magazine because every sound of its was as good as or better than the competition…unlike some keyboards which excel at only a few types of voices.

The Kurzweil PC3X offers a massive sound set of over 800 programs, which has been programmed to reflect the needs of today's professional players. It includes the famous Kurzweil Triple Strike Piano sound as well.

Another important feature is the availability of sixteen independent arpeggiators as well as a collection of pre-recorded beats and musical phrases.

The user interface in Kurzweil PC3X Workstation Keyboard has been greatly improved with the backlit display, which conveys all the information you'll need.

The built-in sequencer has the capability to handle unlimited tracks, besides offering powerful song editing functions like step editing, swing, and controller scaling with a totally new interface.

The keyboard action is "Balanced Hammer Action", wherein all keys are the same weight as opposed to "graded hammer action" where lower notes are heavier than higher notes. So if you are a piano-based musician, you may want to play it and check if it feels right.

Conclusion

If you need only one good instrument for your studio as well as for live gigs, then you may consider the Kurzweil PC3X. This is the synthesizer you will need to stay competitive in the cut-throat professional music scene.
