Keyboard amp and guitar amp - Is there lot of Difference / Dissimilarities?

by Matthew

I read this article on this site How is a Keyboard Amp different from Amps for other instruments but I still have queries.

Have been doing some reading on the internet and have heard lots of comments on Keyboard amps saying that they suck.

Why is that so? Are you not supposed to use Keyboard amps for amplification?

Second question is around safety. Assuming I connect a keyboard (say a Casio wk-3800) to my Peavey guitar amp, will it blow up any of the instrument?

I tried connecting but I just kept the volume to very low (out of fear).

I might sound silly but I just wanted to be sure that it doesn’t damage either of my Casio keyboard or my guitar amp.

Keyboard amps and guitar amps - What Difference / Dissimilarities Exists?
by: Chris

No, it wouldn't blow up your keyboard but if you plugged in your guitar amp to the keyboard, it is going to make it sound terrible.

Guitar amps are specifically designed for guitars and add a bit of color (for distortion purposes). They are really not meant to be used for other musical instruments.
