How to record my Yamaha YPG 620 / 625 grand piano keyboard voices on GarageBand (Mac)?

by Terry
(Texas, US)

I own a Yamaha YPG 620 88 key piano keyboard, and I have a question on how to use it with GarageBand, which is a recording software for Mac (my version is 10.5.8).

Was wondering is there any way I can directly connect my Yamaha YPG 620 keyboard to my Mac, and record the tracks directly to GarageBand?

I want to be able to use the sounds and voices of my Yamaha YPG 620, since I think they sound great. Besides, I also intend to upgrade to a Yamaha YPG 625 keyboard soon, and want to sort this thing out before I get it.

I want to use the GarageBand music software to record multiple tracks, and I don’t want to use just the sounds provided by GarageBand. I want to record using the voices on my Yamaha YPG 620 Keyboard as well.

Is this possible?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!
-Terry
