Casio CTK 900 Music Keyboard - USB MIDI Connection to Computer

How does the USB MIDI Connection to Computer work on Casio CTK 900 Music Keyboard?

The Casio CTK 900 Music Keyboard is an entry level model I know but it's wonderful value. My only complaint is that I have never managed to get the MIDI connection and PC software to work (talk). It just will not.

I have had exchanges with many MIDI sites of somewhat simplistic files - so I know that the interface will work both up & down. I have managed to drive another keyboard too OR use another keyboard to drive the CTK 900 - BUT I JUST CANNOT MAKE THE CASIO SOFTWARE WORK!

Any help on this would be fantastic. I thank thee.

Usually these things work fine the first time itself. You just load the drivers and you are ready to use your keyboard with the computer. Over time, you may have added some software or updated some path on your computer which is probably interfering with the USB drivers. So the best thing is to reinstall the USB midi drivers.

You may want to check the connection, just change the midi-in and midi-out of your connection. At times it's as simple as this, though it sounds very basic. Another thing is that you should never disconnect the USB midi cable when the data transfer is happening (it will be indicated by some light that will glow to denote that the connection is fine).

I guess the Casio ctk-900 has a USB slot to make the midi connection to the keyboard which should make it even easier. Try reinstalling the USB midi drivers on your computer from the CD ROM that comes along with your Casio Keyboard.
