Casio CTK 518 61 Key Music Keyboard – Can't Detach AC adapter
I purchased this Casio keyboard from another person. The music keyboard works fine, there is no problem with the sounds or keys whatsoever, however there is an issue which is bothering me. It appears that the place where the AC adapter plugs in to the back of the keyboard is broken. That's what I think. There is no longer the square thing or slot, whatever it is called, where the plug usually goes into. It appears to me they have soldered the wires internally, so that you can no longer detach the AC adapter. Is this a one off thing or most models are built this way nowadays. At least whatever Casio keyboards I have worked on before this didn't seem to have this sort of design.
My Casio music keyboard works fine, no doubt about it. However, I want to be able to detach the power adapter so that it is not just left hanging there. It just doesn’t look good that the power adapter is plugged when no one is playing. Besides, somebody could trip over the wires if they are not careful, especially kids and they could be hurt. It's even easier to pack all the stuff back in the keyboard bag once I’m done with my keyboard playing.
Is there a replacement piece or something I can do to fix this? Are these parts easily fixable by anybody who has no experience in dismantling such electronic items and putting them back? I've never opened a music keyboard before but I'm willing to give it a try if this can be fixed. If I could get the box part that goes to the back of the keyboard, I think I can get it fixed on my Casio CTK 518 61-key music keyboard.
Thank you,
Amy
